The poem in a nutshell

Just as a little child apologises to its parents after creating some mayhem, the speaker begs forgiveness to the Supreme Parent in a fallen state. Only the Supreme Parent, God, can raise the puny soul up to a divine light.

The poem - "Begging Forgiveness"

Just as a child, after committing some nuisance,
Begs lenience from its parent,
I crave You to forgive its insignificance,
As usual, even at present.

Being a mundane human being,
I don't foster that discretion;
Many things pass just fleeing;
Can’t this too be void of impression?

Honestly, I never wanted to blaspheme,
By alluding to Your name in the feature;
O, forgive me, for my mind was dim;
I compared You with our Nature.

“To err is human, to forgive divine”;
So I do beg of you;
Let my soul with sooth to shine,
Let it always be true.
