Substance of the poem

Even though I try heart and soul to obtain success, destiny betrays me by laughing a cruel laugh. It seems to be unjust, though I practise hard indeed. Life is not meant to be exactly as we think of it. Sometimes, it feels hard and tough to pull on. When we are in tears, people sometimes take advantage of it. However, life goes on in its own rhythm, that is, we must never stop, we should always try harder to better our past deeds in order to gain fortune. We must not give up at all.








The poem - "Persistence"

I burn midnight oil;
All day do I toil;
Yet, don't get success;
Life is full of mess;
Why such injustice?
In spite of practice?
Life is hard and tough;
We cry, people laugh;
I trust to succeed;
Though sometimes I bleed,
I will not give up,
To get Fortune's club.

    I love this write up on persistence. While our aims may be high and lofty, and need persistence to be achieved, we always have to try to enjoy the journey. Our life is the journey.
