Response (Haiku)

Substance of the poem

God's divine love accords us all a ready welcome always. If we open the door of our minds, if we really desire to respond to His heavenly call, we need to extend ourselves with open arms. He is there to give us love, but do we indeed wish to receive it?

The story behind the haiku “Response”

It was a sunny day. I was looking out the window at the dazzling golden sky. After my siesta, I gazed at the twilight sky momentarily and found the waning sun a bit morose. I asked him, “What’s wrong with you?” There was not anybody else in my room at that moment. He as if swooped down the building at a distance within view. I felt disheartened that the daylamp was feeling so sulky. I asked myself, “Am I all right?” I found an answer from within. That very answer was from God Himself, I trust. Yes, our fragile earthly body is the temple of our Living God. Let us all nurture our soul with tender live and infinite care forever.

Let's extend ourselves.
